In May of 2013, I went back to California to photograph a wedding that was special to me.
I met Liliana two years ago at another wedding I was photographing in Avila Beach, CA. We hit it off instantly. I talked about everything. We talked about life, spirituality, goals, type of shoes to wear for the marathon, how awesome the clam chowder was, my recent move to Pittsburgh, and more importantly, heartache.
You see, she broke up with her boyfriend whom she cared deeply for because they were on different paths in life. She didn’t want to lead him in a direction that he may not truly want to go. As much as she didn’t want to, she ended things. She was sad but said, “If it was meant to be then God will bring us back together.”
The weekend came and we said our goodbyes. She was excited for my future and I wanted nothing but the best for hers. I only knew her for a weekend but I could tell she was a genuine person. That kind of person that you wish nothing but happiness for. But I am happy to say the story didn’t end there.
Two years later, I received a message from Liliana. We talked like we were old friends. Then she asked me to photograph her very own wedding with the very same boyfriend, Eduardo. I couldn’t stop thinking about how wonderful they found each other again. “It was meant to be” and so it was.
I didn’t meet Eduardo until the day of the wedding. But instantly, you can tell he is also a genuinely kind and good-hearted person. He is the perfect match for Liliana. Every time he saw her, he had a huge smile on his face. They are an amazingly cute couple. If you don’t believe me, keep scrolling down.
I am extremely happy that their paths were brought back together. It was definitely meant to be. From the bottom of my heart, I wish nothing but long life and happiness for the both of you!
