The story. Naina and Nate first met in at Carnegie Mellon University. It was love at first sight for Nate. Not so much for Naina though. Nate would ask her out and Naina wouldn’t have it. Until one day, his boyish smile won him a date. They hung out as friends but their first date was at a friend’s house. There, she got the nod of approval from her friends. They love playing video games together, reading books, going camping, hiking, and kayaking. Getting off the grid and getting down and dirty. They love to travel and hope one day they can live in a different country.
The one. There are many events in life that defines us and many that makes us afraid. Naina had an event in her life that made her afraid. She was to go under a medical procedure and was scared. But Nate held her and told her he is there no matter what. His confidence, strength and reliability continues to take care of her to this day. With his boyish smile gazing at her, she knew that this isn’t someone she can let go. He was the one.
What does he love about her? Her sense of humor, overwhelming compassion, and the fact that they are both nerds. While he was working late one night, Naina called him to tell him where she was. She was standing outside a video game store hoping to get a copy of Call of Duty for Nate. Oh, and it was release day. That means she was probably standing in line with hundreds of other people and waiting for hours to pick up this game that Nate loved. She was a keeper.
The proposal. Naina and Nate was at the Renaissance Festival. Naina was all dressed up in Lord of the Rings getup when a pirate kidnapped her and took her to an area of the festival called “The Shire.” There, the pirate tried to auction her off until Nate swooped in and proclaimed, “This ain’t no wench, this is my lady!” He dropped to one knee.
Advice to future couples. Naina and Nate hope future couples will read “The Five Love Languages.” Never stop playing with each other and to remember to make each other the priority in life.
Last words. I met Naina during our first meeting and can tell she was a smart and beautiful person. She loves this guy name Nate. Someone whom I didn’t get to meet until their engagement session. I photographed their engagement session at Point State Park. The first thing I notice about Nate? His smile, of course. By the end of the session, they won me over. They were such kind-hearted people. I knew I had to do the best job I can for them.
Below are the photos from their wedding. They had their Indian wedding in India and I photographed their US wedding at LeMont Restaurant. I hope you guys enjoy the photos below and thank you for all the family and friends that helped Naina and Nate get to where they are now.
Thank you Matthew Olson for 2nd shooting!
